I'm an outdoor enthusiast: I love camping, kayaking, snorkeling, mountain biking, rock-climbing, skiing and hiking. Living in the city, I don't always get out to the mountains or the woods as often as I'd like, but I usually manage to pull off one or two good-sized trips in a season. Recent highlights include an overnight hike in the Sierra Norte Mountains near Oaxaca, Mexico, and learning to surf in Nosara, Costa Rica.

I'm an avid cyclist (I love biking in the rain), an aspiring musician (trumpet and guitar), and, well, a mediocre gardener (it's harder than it looks!). Some projects I've been involved with include the cargo bike cooperative, the Too Big to Care Marching Band, and the stop-motion animation project vitaminbike.org.
