NEWS ON THE BIG WILD

The international conservation community finally follows the lead of The Big Wild.

Since the Big Wild's inception, 7 months ago, we have long and tirelessly for many months advocated for the establishment of large-scale systems of interconnected protected areas (LSSIPA) and connectivity zones (CZ) to protect biodiversity and adapt to climate change (PBACC).

Finally the world has sat up, had some coffee and biscuit and taken notice. At the October 2008 meetings of the World Conservation Congress in Barcelona, Spain, members of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) overwhelmingly passed a resolution calling for the development of LLSIPAs and CZ to PBACC!

Our LLSIPA and CZ policy efforts finally paid off ' success!
