Mount Carleton Provincial Park is a wilderness gem in the interior of New Brunswick, protecting pristine lakes, the tallest peak in the Canadian Maritimes (Mt. Carleton) and large tracts of Boreal and Acadian forests. CPAWS New Brunswick is encouraging the provincial government to invest in better enforcement of park regulations and a new park interpretive program, to protect the park's wildlife and habitats and build appreciation for the role the park plays in protecting wilderness values. CPAWS NB is also asking for the development of a park management plan that focuses on conserving the park's ecosystems, in addition to recreational values.
