Cape Spear (eastern most point in Canada, (North America)

I arrived in St. Johns Newfoundland in April to a rainy evening. The next day i get up and go to a coffee shop around the corner from the hostel. I have a backpack on and this older gentleman asks me "where ya to" I said I was from B.C. and was here to walk across Canada. "yes bye" he replies and we part ways. Well every day the same thing, we'd meet on the street and talk. Turns out he was a fisherman his whole life and never left St. Johns, no drivers licence never even driven a car. When fisheries collapsed he owned some houses renting them out and retired. One day we some how missed each other. (Bus was early I was late can't remember.) Anyway the next day I see him again he says "Thought you were gone." I replied no I have to wait for the weather to clear so I can catch the sun rise in the eastern mast part of Canada for my web site. He looks at me with a smile and goes "Your waitin' on the weather in St Johns, well you live here now don't ya bye. It took 10 days befor the weather was clear enough but i caught it.
