The Big Wild is proud to present "I'm a Mountain", a musical collaboration between Sarah Harmer, Mountain Equipment Co-op, and thousands of Canadians from across the country.
In the Spring of 2012, Drawn to the Wild invited Canadians to contribute to a new version of a Sarah Harmer music video. The original video was taken from the tour documentary "Escarpment Blues". It was made up of over 1200 frames to be reenvisioned by Canadains in the hopes of raising awareness around threatened Canadian landscapes. Every time a frame was submitted, The Big Wild and Mountain Equipment Co-op donated money to Protecting Escarpment Rural Land (PERL), an organization dedicated to protecting the Niagara Escarpment in southern Ontario.
We put a video together earlier this year that explained the creative process behind Drawn to the Wild, an initative originally inspired by the Johnny Cash Project. While the video is comprised of 1200 frames, we received many more, allowing us to choose from the best of what Canadians had to offer.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this collaberative proccess. The finished product is better than anything we ever expected. Please enjoy "I'm a Mountain" by Sarah Harmer.
