We are two friends united by our love of geology, of the great outdoors and of fine food and friendship. We will head to Gros Morne National Park, Nfld this August for two exciting reasons: to see and hopefully touch the earth's mantle (dense rock that is usually buried beneath 40 km of lighter crust) and to hike the Long Range traverse, reputably one of the most spectacular classic hikes in Canada. We are hoping for good weather and friendly people on our trip. With luck, we will collect some great teaching photos, eat some delicious back country meals and experience some unforgettably beautiful moments.
