Welcome to Stephen and Jessica's Wild Wedding!

Anyone who knows Jessica and Stephen, knows their commitment to the protection of our planet. Not only are they trying to make the world a better place through what they do, they want to make an impact and help protect the planet with their wedding registry. Jessica and Stephen have decided to direct their friends and family to The Big Wild, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting big, wild spaces in Canada.

It's easy and you can dedicate your donations to Stephen and Jessica, as well as leave a note for the married-couple-to-be! Simply click here or look to the right-hand side of this page for a pink button titled "Sponsor this Challenge." Click on it and you're half-way there - now all you need to do is fill out the form provided and Steve and Jessica will know you've made a donation.

If you have any questions regarding your donation, the donation process, your tax receipt of The Big Wild, don't hesitate to write. Email theo@thebigwild.org and make the subject line "Big Wild Wedding".

A Big Wild Welcome from Stephen and Jessica!

Welcome! We are both outdoor enthusiasts and environmentally conscience people. We spend as much time as possible outdoors and enjoy a variety of activities such as: canoeing and kayaking, skiing and snowboarding, skating and hockey, mountain biking, hiking and climbing, swimming and fishing. We have a car, but rarely drive in the city as we both commute by bike year round. It is really just a get-a-way vehicle for getting out to the places we wish we didn’t have to leave for school and work.

What we do. Jessica is completing her degree in Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta, while Stephen is half way through his master’s in Materials Engineering.

This country, we love. We hope one day to cycle across Canada and perhaps down the Rockies and into the Andes. Stephen rode for a few weeks through Patagonia a year ago and we hope to get there again together.

The "nature" of marriage.
We are getting married in the public park next to our rented basement suit in Edmonton and will travel shortly after to have our 2nd ceremony on the Rideau Canal and hopefully a honeymoon of canoeing with our sleeping mats and hammocks throughout Algonquin Park. We have consciously decided to have two separate receptions to avoid his family from Ontario or my family from Alberta from busying the airways.

Why We Chose The Big Wild. We value nature and responsible human interactions with it. We feel more Canadians need to get connected to wild spaces. We both believe strongly that Canada is in a unique position to protect large amounts of the biosphere not just for now, but forever.
