Two Challenges

Get Those Scouts to the 2011 Sweden JamboreeThis challenge of sleeping outdoors as many nights as possible over the next year to support the 25th Scouts for their journey to the world jamboree is a joyful challenge.

Why? The scouts are leaders and learn to love, respect, and protect our Canadian wilderness. By joining a world wide group in Sweden in 2011 we will accomplish a dream of gathering world youth together to create friendships, networks, and a community of young leaders. Lower Athabasca - Act Now...We can make a difference!  Our challenge of spending time outdoors and raising $2000  will be our gift to the 25th Scouts and to The Big Wild.

How? Our group will explore local wilderness areas in winter and spring. In the summer and fall we will take a canoe and land adventure journey along the North Saskatchewan River,  the lower Athabasca, as well as a lake kayaking trip. This will be our contribution to support both the Scouts and The Big Wild Project, Lower Athabasca. Read more http://www.thebigwild.org/challenges/lowerathabasca

Our group has an interest to protect our local rivers and waterways. Finally, this is an opportunity to create new networks of like minded people who love the Canadian wilderness and want to spend time on outdoor adventures. We want to have a venue to make our voice heard through the The Big Wild.
