NEWS ON THE BIG WILD

Do Something Small to Save Something Big

If you ask us here at The Big Wild, nothing says Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah like recycled steel and paper – which is why we're thrilled to be rolling out our new campaign buttons. These hot, little gems come in four different styles and each style sports a different animal.

Perhaps you're feeling like the Ontario Woodland Caribou needs your attention today. Or maybe the Grizzly Bear that calls the Flathead River Valley home works with that forest green hoodie, just waiting to be worn. Canada's caribou and oh-so-pretty-pink – a forest woodpecker and bright green – pacific salmon and baby blue – a grizzly bear and, er.... chartreuse!

Whatever your mood, there is a button and a campaign to match it. And just think, by purchasing one of these buttons for the holidays as a treat for yourself or a gift to someone else, you're supporting the ultimate Big Wild campaign that's working towards 50% protection of Canada's wild spaces.

Not only are the buttons sustainable and made from recycled products, but you know you're purchasing something with ethical origins. That's because they were made right here in Canada by the Vancouver based company, Fairware. You can pick up one or all four of them at any Mountain Equipment Co-op location across the country.

Personally, I've been sporting the bear button around these last few days. About a dozen people have already taken notice and asked me where they can find a button for themselves. MEC, baby! Get'em while they're hot for the holidays!
