Meet Sophie Paradis. She is co-executive director at SNAP Quebec. In spring of 2010, Sophie will stand before the Quebec National Assembly and ask them to honour their commitment to the environment and protect Quebec’s Boreal forest above the 49th parallel. The more signatures she can collect from Canadians, the more likely the Quebec government will be willing to act to protect this area and the critical habitat of the Woodland caribou.

One of Canada's most spectacular Boreal wilderness sites, a top 10 world paddling destination and home to a waterfall twice as high as Niagara, is now protected from industrial development FOREVER! The recently expanded Nahanni National Park Reserve and World Heritage Site now protects over 30 000 square km along the Northwest Territories' South Nahanni River, making it Canada's third-largest National Park.
